Operation Vectinia is the codename for the actions taken by the [[Trade Federation]] and her allies to assist [[Alion Nova Guard]] in their defense of the system from the splinter mercenary group, the [[Nova Blades]]. It lasted 34 standard days.

In the middle of [[Year 19]], Kohl Straffer led several officials of [[Alion Nova Guard]] in a coup against head of state [[Lorenzas Atticus]]. After it became clear that Atticus would not step down and much of the government remained loyal to him, Straffer's faction took control of 80 Mon Calamari-designed capital ships and over 400 X-Wing Fighters from a navel depot near the [[Hewett Sector]] and began to lay siege to the first of the sector's two planets,[[Vectinia]], under the name of the [[Nova Blades]]. Vectinia is a midsized glacial planet known for its heightened volcanic activity. The rumors that Straffer was aided by the criminal [[Zann Consortium]] were soon verified as Zann forces were spotted supporting Straffer, along with other members of the [[Shadow Dominion]]: [[Dread]] and [[Death Watch]].

Atticus was eager to bring this conflict to a swift end, and asked his allies for help. The [[Trade Federation]], Imperial ally [[Corsec]], famed mercury group [[The Wraiths]], and the recycling corporation the [[Kerdos Company]] all quickly answered the call. Admiral [[Ru Ru Wok]] commanded the Lucrehulk battleship the [[Caelestis]] and coordinated the Federation's reconnaissance and humanitarian assistance missions. Early in the operation, however, it became clear that situation was far out of hand. The situation on the ground was far different than described by Alion officials, with Straffer's forces already controlling a majority of the power and infrastructure of the planet by the time Alion-allied forces arrived. Corsec was soon asked to leave by Atticus for fear of Zann infiltration, and the Wraiths and Kerdos forces could make little headway on the ground without risking countless civilian casualties. After only 28 days Viceroy [[Nohv Schiller]] ordered Admiral Wok and his forces to return home to avoid the Federation getting mired in a war that would cost far more than its victory would secure. In the next 6 days the Nova Blades and their allies would secure both Vectinia and Hewett systems, effectively controlling the entire sector.

No Trade Federation casualties were reported during the 28 day operation, and those who risked their lives providing humanitarian aid to the citizens of Vectinia received special commendation from the viceroy. The activities at Vectinia further illustrated the danger posed by the growing pirate and criminal syndicates during the later part of the [[Second Galactic Civil War]]'s second decade.
